Tooth Extraction
Before any tooth comes out, we check whether a crown or root canal could keep it. If not, the doctor who examined you removes it here.
When you need an oral surgeon in Whittier, CA, our own dental surgeons handle extractions, wisdom teeth and implant placement right here, with no referral to another office. Emergencies are seen the same day when possible.

Oral surgery at our practice is done by our owner-doctors, both dental surgeons and implantology specialists. They see you at your exam, plan the procedure and do the surgery themselves, so you are not passed to someone you have never met.
We have handled dental surgery in Whittier since 2003, placed more than 15,000 dental implants, and our surgical team includes a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantology.

Meet Our Dentists
Patients often mention our friendly staff and our doctors’ bedside manner, which matter most when a tooth needs surgery.
“I love this office I have extreme phobia of needles and Leti made it a breeze and I like the fact they answer all my questions this is a very nice office.”
Had a great dental appointment at Atlantic Dental in Whittier, no pain & always making you comfortable.
Atlantic Dental is great! Staff is friendly, the treatment was painless, I highly recommend this dental office.
Best place for implants & dental works. I have tried several implants places before but this was the final place for my last 6 implants, crowns fit perfectly also.
Many Whittier patients come to us assuming surgery means a referral, a second consultation and a wait at another office. The first questions we hear are simple: can you take my tooth out, who will do it, and do you take my insurance.
At our office, the dental surgeon in Whittier who examines you is the one who operates, and our benefits coordinator checks your PPO plan before treatment. More than 4 in 10 Whittier residents speak a language other than English at home, so our English- and Spanish-speaking team makes sure you understand your plan before anything starts.
After you heal, we can stay your everyday dentist in Whittier for cleanings, fillings and checkups.
Each is planned and performed at our Greenleaf Avenue office. Your exam decides which, if any, fits.
Before any tooth comes out, we check whether a crown or root canal could keep it. If not, the doctor who examined you removes it here.
A wisdom tooth stuck under the gum or coming in at an angle is a common reason for surgery. One causing no trouble may only need watching.
Placing an implant is surgery, planned with 3D imaging. Whether you are a candidate depends on your exam, X-rays and scans.
If implant placement makes you uneasy, sedation can help you relax. We go over the options at your free implant consultation.
Sudden swelling or a broken tooth? Call us first. Emergency patients can typically be seen the same day.
Your exam and imaging decide whether surgery is needed. These are the situations where it most often is.
A wisdom tooth trapped by bone or gum can leave the area sore and hard to keep clean. We check its position first.
Deep decay or a long crack can leave a tooth a crown cannot support. We remove it and talk about filling the space.
An infected tooth that cannot be kept may need to come out so the area can heal. Swelling that spreads to the face or neck with trouble breathing or swallowing needs emergency medical care right away.
Our doctors place the implant in the jaw and plan the crown that goes on top, so both steps stay in one office.
When most teeth in one jaw cannot be saved, we may recommend full-arch implants, including same-day fixed dentures for patients who qualify.
Before oral surgery in Whittier, our cone-beam CT, or CBCT, shows the tooth roots and jawbone in three dimensions. Digital scanners and intraoral cameras add detail, and we show you what they reveal.
For implant placement, CT-guided planning sets the implant’s position ahead of time, and our in-house implant fabrication keeps that part of your treatment under one roof.

We accept all PPO dental plans. If you have had coverage for years and never used it, it may help with your surgery. Our team checks your benefits before your visit, tells you upfront what your plan will pay, and files the claim for you afterward.
For the rest, ask about low initial payments, monthly payment plans, CareCredit and Cherry.
