Teeth Cleaning
Scaling and polishing paired with an exam. The right starting point for anyone in the family who is due.
Atlantic Dental & Orthodontics is a dentist near Pico Rivera, CA, caring for kids, parents and grandparents at one Whittier office about 3.5 miles away. Our team speaks Spanish, so your whole family can book, ask questions and plan care in the language you prefer.

We opened in January 2003 and have treated more than 50,000 patients since. Our owner-doctors still see patients and do the treatment themselves, so the dentist who examines you is the one who plans your care.
Alongside our general dentists, we have a dentist focused on root canal treatment, dental surgeons and a board-certified orthodontist. When a checkup turns up something bigger, the next step usually happens down the hall.

Meet Our Dentists
Our patients often name the people who took care of them, from the front desk to the hygiene chair, and that is the kind of visit we aim for every day.

Pico Rivera patients drive about 3.5 miles to reach us in Whittier. Many come as a household: a child’s cleaning, a parent’s filling and a grandparent’s older crowns, all booked with one practice.
Many adults we meet have put off the dentist until something hurts, sometimes with insurance they rarely use. Regular exams are how we try to change that, so a small cavity is found before it needs bigger treatment.
Our team speaks English and Spanish, so an older parent can explain what hurts and hear the plan directly, without a family member having to translate. If you want a dentist in Whittier, CA your whole family can share, we would be glad to be that office.
Most visits begin with an exam and cleaning. These are the services that most often come next.

Gums that bleed or look puffy deserve a closer look. If it is gum disease, we explain how far along it is and plan care around it.
When decay or a crack reaches the nerve, a root canal can often keep the tooth, and the crown that usually follows is made by our own technicians.
Braces and Invisalign for children, teens and adults, in the same building as your checkups. A small gap doesn’t automatically mean treatment.
For a broken tooth, swelling or pain that won’t let up, call us first. Emergency patients can typically be seen the same day.
You don’t need to know what’s wrong before you call. These are the problems a routine exam most often turns up, at any age.
Plenty of adults have insurance they haven’t used in a long time. A first exam and cleaning shows where things stand.
Pink in the sink is often the first sign of irritated gums. We check your gums during your exam and tell you whether a routine cleaning is enough.
Pain that fades can still mean decay or a crack underneath. An exam and X-rays help us find the cause.
Teeth that overlap are harder to keep clean, at any age. A checkup tells us whether an orthodontic evaluation makes sense.
Our intraoral cameras put a close-up of your tooth on a screen beside the chair. That helps when an adult child is helping an older parent decide, because everyone sees the same picture.
When a tooth needs a closer look, our cone-beam CT (CBCT) shows it in three dimensions. If you need a crown, our dental technicians make it from high-quality ceramic.

We accept all PPO dental plans, including Delta Dental, Anthem Blue Cross, MetLife, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare. Our benefits coordinator verifies each patient’s coverage before the visit, tells you upfront what the plan will pay and submits the claim for you afterward.
If there is a balance, CareCredit, Cherry, low initial payments and monthly payment plans can spread it out.
