Orthodontist
Braces are one part of our orthodontic care, which also includes tooth and jaw alignment evaluations and clear aligners.
Braces in Whittier, CA, at Atlantic Dental & Orthodontics come in traditional, clear and ceramic styles for kids, teens and adults. A free orthodontic consultation shows you which one fits your bite before you commit.

Every braces plan at our office comes from an orthodontist who has been a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 2022.
We keep treatment conservative. That means choosing the type of braces your bite actually calls for, and walking you through the reason before any brackets go on, whether the patient is in elementary school or well into a career.
Our orthodontist earned a Dean’s Scholarship at the UCLA School of Dentistry, is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and volunteers with Give Kids A Smile.

Braces are not only for middle schoolers. We fit adults with braces too, and clear or ceramic brackets are a common pick for people who talk with customers or coworkers all day. Parents sometimes start treatment in the same season as their teen.
Adjustments continue for the length of treatment, so a short trip helps, and our office at 6716 Greenleaf Avenue has easy parking. Our team explains brushing around brackets, what to eat and how payments work in English or Spanish.
We opened in 2003 as a general dentist in Whittier, so braces patients get their cleanings, fillings and checkups from the same practice that manages their orthodontic care.
These are the services patients most often pair with braces at our office.
Braces are one part of our orthodontic care, which also includes tooth and jaw alignment evaluations and clear aligners.
Invisalign swaps brackets for clear, removable trays. At your consultation we compare trays and brackets for your teeth and tell you which we would pick.
Brackets give plaque extra places to hide, so kids in braces need their checkups and cleanings on schedule. Our dentists see children at the same office.
Straightening is often the first step in a bigger cosmetic plan, with whitening or veneers once the braces come off. If your teeth are already straight and you only want to change their color or shape, a makeover can skip braces entirely.
Not every reason for braces is about looks. These are bite problems our orthodontist evaluates at a braces consultation.
When the upper teeth sit too far over the lower ones, or the lower teeth come forward past the uppers, teeth can wear unevenly when you chew. We check jaw alignment along with the teeth before planning braces for either one.
In a crossbite, some upper teeth close inside the lower teeth instead of outside them. Braces can shift those teeth over time so the upper and lower arches meet the way they should.
A tooth that has turned or leaned out of line is harder to brush and floss around. Because a bracket is bonded to each tooth, braces can guide that tooth back into position a little at a time.
There is no charge for your first orthodontic visit. We look at your teeth and bite, explain which brackets fit your case, and you leave with a plan to think over at home.

Traditional braces use metal brackets joined by a wire. They are the option most people picture, and they suit children, teens and adults alike.
Clear braces and ceramic braces work the same way, with brackets that blend in with your teeth, so they are harder to spot in photos or across a desk.
Before we recommend any of the three, we take digital scans and intraoral camera photos, and CBCT imaging is in the office if your jaw needs a closer look.

We accept all PPO dental plans. Before your braces go on, our benefits coordinator checks what your plan covers, tells you upfront what it should pay and files the claims for you.
Braces are paid for over the course of treatment, so low initial payments, monthly plans, CareCredit and Cherry can keep each month manageable.

PPO plans we accept

We work with PPO dental plans. Call us and we’ll confirm your specific plan before your visit.
Yes. We place adult braces as well as braces for children and teens. Many adults choose clear or ceramic brackets because they blend in with the teeth, and your consultation covers which style suits your bite.
Call our Whittier office at (562) 696-5544 and tell us what happened. We will let you know whether it can wait for your next adjustment or needs a visit sooner. Emergency patients can typically be seen the same day.
Yes. Our team speaks English and Spanish, so parents, grandparents and patients can go over the plan, home care and payments in whichever language they are most comfortable with.
The cost depends on your treatment plan, which we can only set after an exam. At your free consultation we check your PPO benefits, tell you upfront what your plan should pay, and go over CareCredit, Cherry and monthly payment plans for the rest.
